BeforeKryptonexplodedandJor-Elputhisbabyson,Kal-El,inarocketshiptoEarth,thebenevBeforeKryptonexplodedandJor-Elputhisbabyson,Kal-El,inarocketshiptoEarth,thebenevolentrulerwasforcedtobanishthreeirredeemablecriminalstoanotherdimensioncalledThePhantomZone.Thetrio'sleader,GeneralZod,vowedrevenge.Later,ofcourse,Kal-ElgrewuptobecomeSuperman,Earth'smightychampion.Abattlewiththecriminalmastermind,LexLuthor,endswithSupermanhurlinganuclearwarheadintospacewhereitexplodes,butnotharmlessly.Instead,itfreestheKryptonianthreesomefromtheirother-dimensionalprison.Theysoondiscovertheyhavealmostunlimitedpower(thesamepowers,infact,asSuperman),whichtheyusetotakeovertheEarth.Meanwhile,theintrepidreporter,LoisLane,learnsthatherbumblingcolleague,ClarkKent,isreallySuperman,arevelationthatleadstohimbringinghertohisfrozenFortressofSolitudeandrenouncinghispowersinordertomakelovetoher.ItisonlywhenSupermanandLoisreturntocivilizationthattheylearnofthethreeKryptoniansandhowLexLuthorhasjoinedforceswiththem.Now,Supermanmustreversetheirreversibleandregainhispowersinordertosavemankind.
